Experience Godly Play stories in virtual story circles, hear from individuals who have been impacted by Godly Play, learn more about the vision and big work Godly Play Foundation hopes to step into this coming year. STORIES OF IMPACT

Impact Snapshot | New Life Community, Lexington, Kentucky

When asked about the impact a New Program Kit received through a scholarship had on their church, the following story was shared:

“The Godly Play materials we received through the Circle of We was a tremendous blessing for our small church. We are using some of the materials to lead the congregation in understanding the church calendar, with the children being part of the teaching because they have already become familiar with the language and the calendar. We are of a denomination that does not focus on the church calendar in the same liturgical practices of others and it feels very significant to be moving in this direction with our particular congregation.  

Having our own set of materials to use this year means that I can spend more time focused on growing our program or meeting the needs of families we serve rather than worrying about coordination of materials to be borrowed and returned to another program each week. Our children are very proud of our Godly Play room and that we have our own materials that stay on the shelves.”

Who is a Star Seeker?

A Star Seeker is a sustaining donor who supports the work of Godly Play. Much like the wise ones, on their journey to the Christ child, we are on a journey to follow the WILD STAR that will lead us to paths unknown and dreams bigger than we can imagine.  

Why? We believe every child deserves access to sacred spaces where they can make meaning and find purpose in their spiritual journey through story, wondering, and deep play. 

We have BIG DREAMS! Dreams like:

  • Supplementing costs for materials so more children, particularly in underserved communities, have access to beautiful, lasting materials to facilitate deep play and creativity. 

  • Eliminating financial barriers and increasing educational opportunities in order to facilitate a diverse network of adults in churches, schools, hospitals, care facilities, social service agencies and more, with a deep understanding of the dignity and spiritual capacity of children, and a commitment to advocate for the centrality of children’s spirituality in their communities. 

  • Being a leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion so that every child who comes close to Godly Play encounters a felt sense of their inherent worth and dignity as one fully created in God’s image.
